Detailed 11 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Transfer to Amboseli National Park, Game Drive.

Upon your arrival at the airport, meet your Kenya safari guide at the arrivals section of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). Pick up can also be at your hotel of stay in Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital city. After a short brief, proceed on a transfer to Amboseli National Park with a coffee stop in Nairobi. Continue on your drive to Amboseli, passing through the countryside and amazing scenery. Check in and relax at the lodge. Enjoy lunch and rest a bit more.

At 16:00hrs, head out for a late afternoon game viewing that lasts until 18:00hrs. Chance to view lions, elephants, buffalos, monkeys and other kinds of animals in Amboseli National Park. Marvel at the views of the Kilimanjaro Mountain on a clear day. Dinner and overnight stay at Praro Camp Zebra Plains Amboseli.

Day 2: Game Drive in Amboseli National Park, Guided Walking Safari.

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive in Amboseli National Park. Wildlife like cheetahs, zebras, lions, elephant herds can be spotted. While on your game drive, be sure to take photography of the animals with the Kilimanjaro backdrop. Return to the camp for lunch and a relaxed afternoon. Later head out for a guided walking safari. With armed ranger guides or Maasai locals, follow animal tracks to spot a number of them. Come up-close with nature and wildlife. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli National Park, Sundowner Experience

Enjoy another full day game drive in Amboseli National Park punctuated with a picnic lunch stop. Look out for more wild game in the park. Return to the lodge, relax and later enjoy a sundowner experience. Dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 4: Drive to Tsavo West National Park, Wildlife Game Drive

After breakfast, checkout of your camp in Amboseli and drive to Tsavo West. Tsavo West National Park is known for its rugged terrain and scenic beauty. Highlights of your Tsavo West safari is a visit to Mzima Springs and spotting leopards.

Lake Jipe and swamps are a constant water supply and around them you can spot a number of animals in Tsavo West. Look out for large mammals including black rhino, cape buffalo, elephants, leopards, gerenuk and lion among others. Other animals that can be spotted in the park include the bushbaby, hartebeest, lesser kudu and Masai giraffe. Birds in Tsavo West are abundant.

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Tsavo East National Park Wildlife Game Drives

After early breakfast, checkout and enjoy en-route game viewing as you depart for Tsavo East. Tsavo National Park is a popular Kenya wildlife safari destination noted for its vast elephant herds and a variety of animals.  Animals in Tsavo East include buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, zebra and plains game which you will enjoy sight of during the game viewing drives.

Tsavo East is slightly larger and is generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. Other features in the park include the Yatta Plateau, The Mudanda Rock and Lugard Falls. Game drives along the Galana River are very rewarding. Enjoy birdwatching in Tsavo East National Park.

Day 6: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, Boat Safari

After an early breakfast, with a packed lunch start your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park is a bird lover’s paradise. Flamingos, Pelicans, White and Black Rhinos are a common sight.

Enjoy the scenic drive to the park punctuated with a lunch stop. Once in Lake Nakuru National Park, embark on a sunset boat safari. Look out for various birds in Masai Mara, as well as the beautiful landscape of the park. Enjoy your lunch in the wilderness, and then head out for yet another game drive in the Masai Mara. Day 11: Maasai Cultural Experience, Departure
