Best Time to Visit Uganda Destinations
The dry season is the best time to visit Uganda destinations. The dry season runs in the months of June to August and December to February. The dry season is the ideal time to visit for Uganda safari tours especially gorilla trekking because the impenetrable rainforests are not so hard then, and wildlife game viewing much easier because the grass is thinner and shorter then and the animals converge in the few available water areas thus simplifying game viewing. It is important to note that the dry season is also the peak season of travel and as such safaris and accommodation sell out fast, not to mention Uganda gorilla permits; advance booking is thus very important.
The wet season is not considered the best time to visit Uganda destinations because of the rains that fall and interrupt safari experiences. The roads leading to the Ugandan safari destinations can also become impassable due to mud. The upside about the wet season however is that gorillas tend to be much lower and thus easily spotted while gorilla trekking; travelers do not trek so much into the impenetrable rainforest to find the gorillas because they are nearer due to the abundance of forage and cool weather even at the slopes of the rainforest areas. The other upsides to the rainy season are that there are less crowds compared to the peak season, there are subsidized Uganda safari costs given the low demand then say accommodation prices, also birding is best experienced during the months of November to April when there are migratory birds as well.
